Bankruptcies are on the rise

Luleå Bankruptcies are increasing sharply, both in Norrbotten and even more so throughout the country.

In March, 17 limited companies went bankrupt in Norrbotten, compared to 9 in the same month last year, an increase of almost 90 per cent.

During the first three months of the year, 38 companies have gone bankrupt, an increase of 31 per cent compared to the first quarter of last year.

For the country as a whole, the trend is similar. In March, bankruptcies among limited companies increased by 41 per cent compared with the same month last year. This is the twentieth consecutive month with an increase in bankruptcies. Looking at the entire first quarter, the increase is 55 per cent.

"The first quarter has been worrying and very difficult for many entrepreneurs. Even if March does not represent as dramatic an increase as the beginning of the year, it is difficult to speak of any significant bright spots. On the contrary, March is very high. It is also the highest figure we have noted for a March month since 1996," says Henrik Jacobsson, CEO of the credit information company Creditsafe.

The statistics come from the Swedish Companies Registration Office and apply to limited companies. It has been presented by the credit information company Creditsafe.
