Norrlandsfonden receives SEK 300 million in new funding

Luleå The Swedish Government has now given the go-ahead for Norrlandsfonden to receive a further SEK 300 million to continue working on supplementary financing when new rental housing is built in growth and transition municipalities.

With SEK 100 million, Norrlandsfonden has conducted a pilot programme during 2024.

The new capital will be used for lending in 2025 and then it is intended that Norrlandsfonden will receive additional funds in 2026-2028.

With the positive announcement, Norrlandsfonden is now activating the new subsidiary Bostadsfinansiering i norr AB.

"It is so exciting and important that we can continue to work with the model for market-based top loans that Norrlandsfonden has set up,"says Susanne Olofsson, project manager for the pilot activities, and future CEO of Bostadsfinansiering i norr AB.

One innovation is that Norrlandsfonden can also go beyond the Norrland region and operate in other growth municipalities, for example in Ludvika, where Hitachi Energy is growing rapidly.

Norrlandsfonden is a foundation that promotes the development of companies operating in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, Jämtland and Gävleborg. Norrlandsfonden offers top loans for start-ups, development and expansion. The fund can supplement the financing on top of the company's own capital investment and bank financing.
