Two business centres in the north start cooperation
The business companies Kiruna Växer and Gällivare Näringsliv AB have signed a letter of intent for increased cooperation.
"We see great opportunities in acting together on strategic issues. This co-operation is about creating long-term conditions for both people and companies to develop and thrive in our part of the country," says Robert Ylitalo, CEO of Kiruna Växer.
"There is strength in our unity. We complement each other and together we can create conditions that none of us could have achieved on our own," says Mikael Lundman, Chairman of the Board of Gällivare Näringsliv.
They have listed tasks that the co-operation will cover:
- Create more and varied types of jobs
- Stimulate innovation
- Promote training opportunities linked to the needs of business
- Contribute to the development of more and attractive forms of housing for different target groups
- Contribute to an attractive community with a rich cultural and leisure offering
- Strengthen communications for business, tourism and quality of life
- Improve access to funding, both from private capital and the EU
- Strengthen networks between local and external actors
- Increase regional visibility and competitiveness
- Be collaborative partners that work for sustainable and inclusive community development
