Tour around the Gulf of Bothnia launched

The Bothnian Coastal Route, an EU Intereg Aurora project, was launched at the Matka fair in Helsinki to increase awareness of and demand for travel across the Kvarken and around the Bothnian Bay.

The planned customized and modifiable tours will be carried out in cooperation with the Umeå-based company Best of Scandinavia.

"Best of Scandinavia is an actor with an outstanding reputation in the European markets. The company also has a local presence in our area, with deep knowledge of destinations and companies around the Gulf of Bothnia. We are very happy that our tour is now included in their portfolio,” says Erja Back, Project Manager at Visit Umeå, one of the partners in the Bothnian Coastal Route project.

The new tour around the Gulf of Bothnia can be customized according to customers' wishes. It includes nature experiences and adventure, with culture and food experiences. It will give travelers an insight into the unique character of the region.

The tour goes around the coast of the Bothnian Bay and by sea over Kvarken. Kvarken is the narrowing that separates the Gulf of Bothnia from the Bothnian Sea.
