Norrbotten has the lowest unemployment

Luleå Unemployment in Sweden is lowest in the north and highest in the south.

In Norrbotten, unemployment continues to fall from an already low level, despite the economic situation. Unemployment is particularly low in Gällivare and Kiruna.

This is shown in the Swedish Public Employment Service's report The labor market situation in Sweden's counties quarter 4 2024.

"In the quarterly report, we try to show the regional differences and make the material available to more people who want to make local and regional analyzes. We hope that the material can help to deepen our monthly statistics,” says Emil Persson, Labor Market Analyst at the Swedish Public Employment Service.

The reason for the low unemployment in Norrbotten is the large industrial investments that are underway in northern Sweden.
