New project to speed up industrial transition

Luleå Energikontor Norr, together with IUC Norr, is launching a project to support small and medium-sized enterprises in Norrbotten in the energy transition.

The project Energy transition - for increased competitiveness (E-FEKT), is aimed primarily at companies in food processing. The aim is to contribute to increased energy efficiency, reduced climate impact and strengthened competitiveness in the region. The project aims to counteract the long-term decline in the county's food production by creating better conditions for a sustainable and local food chain with a higher degree of self-sufficiency in Norrbotten.

Within the project, small and medium-sized enterprises in Norrbotten will be offered customised support and skills enhancement with a focus on energy, sustainable transport and climate.

"E-FEKT is a unique opportunity to combine support with a long-term vision of sustainability. It's not just about getting started with your energy transition, but also creating a lasting change in the way you think and act," says Jörgen Nilsson, CEO of Energikontor Norr.

Energikontor Norr is the project owner and IUC Norr is the project partner. The project is financed by Tillväxtverket (Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth) and Region Norrbotten. It will start in February 2025 and run for 40 months.

Energikontor Norr is owned by Region Norrbotten and the county's municipalities. IUC Norr is a regional development company owned by 120 industrial companies and organisations in Norrbotten and Västerbotten. Its activities are largely financed by public funds, including from Region Norrbotten.
