More than half will leave Northvolt
This was announced by the bankruptcy trustee Mikael Kubu at a meeting with employees on Monday.
“The continued operation within the framework of the bankruptcy will employ about 1,700 of the bankrupt companies' employees. In addition, there will be people employed in foreign subsidiaries,” Mikael Kubu writes in a press release.
The announcement means that operations at the factory in Skellefteå will be reduced in scope, but will continue. At the same time, attempts are being made to find someone or some people who want to take over the factory.
“Despite major cutbacks, it is positive that the business can continue to some extent, which is probably crucial for being able to sell the business in whole or in part,” writes Mikael Kubu.
Since the bankruptcy announcement on March 12, all employees have been in uncertainty about the near future of the factory.
