Construction investments increase in Norrbotten

Luleå Construction investments are increasing in Norrbotten, both this year and next year.

This is according to a new forecast from the trade organization Byggföretagen.

In 2024, SEK 24.5 billion was invested in construction in Norrbotten. This was an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous year. This year, construction is expected to increase by 8% and by 2% in 2026.

These are significantly better figures than the national average. Across the country, the construction industry invested SEK 645 billion in 2024, which was a decrease of one percent compared to the previous year. This year, construction in Sweden is expected to increase by 3% and by 4% in 2026.

“Next year, construction investment will grow faster than the economy as a whole, even though we are still in a challenging economic climate,” says Catharina Elmsäter-Svärd, CEO of the Swedish Construction Federation.
