Karin Bodin Owneress of the Year

Älvsbyn Polarbröd Group CEO Karin Bodin has been awarded Owneress of the Year 2024.

The award is established by the organization Ownershift to highlight female ownership.

The award ceremony took place at the Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences in Stockholm in the presence of Minister for Gender Equality Paulina Brandberg. The jury consisted of Regina Sipos, Anna König Jerlmyr, Caroline Farberger, Hidayet Tercan, Sara Serray, Aaron Kroon, Claudia Olsson, Pelle Törnberg and Micael Dahlén.

"I am very honored to receive this award. It is important to highlight the women who have the strength and courage to take on leadership roles and it is great to be in such distinguished company,” says Karin Bodin.

The motivation reads:

“Karin is awarded the prize for her persistent and courageous ownership. As owner and CEO of the Polarbröd Group, she is a modern role model who combines ownership and high positions in business. Strong business drive, value-driven leadership and perseverance make both business and people grow under her wings.”

Polarbröd, with bakeries in Älvsbyn in Norrbotten and Bredbyn in Västernorrland, is one of Sweden's largest bread producers.

Ownershift is a non-partisan non-profit organization working for economic equality, with a focus on ownership. Ownershift works to make visible who owns Sweden.
