Cooperation between Sweden and Finland to strengthen self-sufficiency

Luleå Hushållningssällskapet Norrbotten-Västerbotten and ProAgria in Oulu start cooperation.

The collaboration between the two agricultural organizations aims to strengthen regional self-sufficiency in food production, and promote profitability and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector in northern Sweden and northern Finland.

“This is a big step that we have now taken. The food security challenges are similar in northern Sweden and northern Finland. This cooperation means very close contacts between us and our sister organization in Finland, an important collaboration for increased preparedness in our northern climate,” says Petter Antti, CEO of Hushållningssällskapet Norrbotten-Västerbotten.

The cooperation will take place in several ways:
They will jointly develop and run projects; exchange information through study tours and visits; share experiences and implement best practices to meet the specific challenges of agriculture; establish cross-border advisory services to strengthen the industries; share new information in each organization's channels.
