Nyab increases profit and order book

Luleå Swedish-Finnish, Luleå-based NYAB, presents an interim report with sharply increased profits and doubled order backlog.

During the third quarter, sales increased by 4.2% compared to the same quarter last year and amounted to EUR 93.6 million. Operating profit improved by 35.5% to EUR 8.9 million, which corresponds to 9.5% of revenue.

The order book improved by 108.4% to EUR 381.9 million, with the company securing projects worth over EUR 100 million in the third quarter.

The company is optimistic about market conditions in Sweden going forward; in Finland, the market is somewhat slower but an improvement is expected there as well. The problems recognised in the green transition do not affect Nyab directly.

"Without having a direct effect on our business, we have noticed that some large-scale projects in the ongoing green transition have encountered challenges. Still, no one can question that investments related to the green transition and decarbonisation are necessary and will continue for a long time to come. The focus is now on de-risking and economic viability, which can be considered a healthy development trend, and we expect this maturity to have positive effects on NYAB's addressable markets," writes CEO Johan Larsson in the interim report.

During the first nine months of the year, revenue was EUR 228.8 million, an increase of 18.8% compared to the same period last year. Operating profit is €13.1 million, an increase of 52.6%.

NYAB offers engineering, construction and maintenance services in sustainable infrastructure, industrial construction and renewable energy. NYAB operates in Sweden and Finland, in both the private and public sectors.
