Gefa System supplies burners to Mopani

Gällivare-based Gefa System is to supply burner systems to Zambian mining company Mopani Copper.

Gefa System works with high pressure technology for combustion. It has now secured an order for three complete burner systems for Mopani Copper in Zambia.

The burner systems will be used for drying and heat retention in Pierce Smith converters, which play an important role in improving plant efficiency and reducing emissions.

For Gefa System, this is another success in the market where there is a demand for burner technology that can be used in demanding industrial environments. Its largest customers are in Sweden, with LKAB, and Africa, where it has supplied burner systems to Zambia, Namibia and South Africa. It also has customers in Chile and Australia.

"Our technology is already implemented in smelting plants across multiple continents, including Africa, Asia, and South America. This order from Mopani Copper reinforces our position as a trusted partner in the global mining and metallurgical industries," said Ulf Karlsson, CEO at Gefa System.

Gefa System started in Gällivare in the 1980s with automation solutions for wastewater systems. Today, burner systems for industries and ventilation automation for underground mines are the most important part of the business. The company has four employees and a turnover of SEK 7.3 million.
