Installer companies and LTU collaborate on education and research
The aim is to increase the rate of innovation and development in climate, energy, electrification and digitalisation. The idea is also to support the competence supply of the installation industry.
“By building a strong working relationship with Luleå University of Technology, we promote valuable knowledge transfer and play a more active role in developing skills supply in the sector. Our intention is to provide the society with sustainable skills and new solutions within the area of installation more swiftly,” says Johnny Petré, Chair of the Swedish Installation Federation.
The Swedish Installation Federation is an industry and employer organization with 4,000 member companies that install and optimize heating, ventilation, water, electrical and telecommunications technology in buildings and businesses.
“Installations play an ever-increasing role in all kinds of construction, since they have a large impact on energy efficiency. To sign an agreement of this kind is very important to Luleå University of Technology, as it strengthens our research and education within the field and is beneficial for the sector”, says Johan Larsson, Associate Professor and Head of Industrialised and Sustainable Construction at Luleå University of Technology.
The installation industry will also take greater responsibility in supporting Luleå University of Technology directly in research and education, with an increased number of collaborations on research and development projects in the installation industry.
