Rejlers becomes Talga's partner in digital development

Kiruna The technology consultant Rejlers has been commissioned by anode manufacturer Talga to support Talga in the digitalization of the project, from pre-study to finished production of anodes for batteries.

Talga will mine graphite in one of the world's best graphite deposits in Vittangi, east of Kiruna in northernmost Norrbotten. The graphite will be the raw material in a new factory in Luleå where battery anodes will be manufactured. Anodes constitute half of the active material in a modern lithium-ion battery.

"Building a new and sustainable European value chain for battery anodes is both important and demanding. We are therefore pleased to collaborate with Rejlers on IT solutions," says Martin Phillips, European Manager at Talga.

Rejlers has been commissioned to drive and support Talga in its digital development, with technical support and services in the area of IT/OT/ET (Information Technology / Operational Technology / Engineering Technology).

"Through the project, we are contributing to the industrial transition where Talga's operations will play a key role in electrification and contribute to a reduced footprint through sustainable, local production," says Malin Ljung Eiborn, Sustainability Manager at Rejlers.

Talga is headquartered in Perth, Australia, is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) and has operations in Sweden, Germany and the UK.

Rejlers is one of the Nordic region's largest engineering consultants, listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
