40 women on Sweden's hardest list

Luleå For the third year in a row, Sweden's toughest list, "40 over 40", has been released. Half of the women on the list work in businesses in northern Sweden. Here is the full list.

The list contains the names of 40 women over the age of 40 who work in the mining and steel industry in Sweden and who, with their experience and knowledge, have made special contributions to their workplace.

"We need to broaden the image of the industry; there are many good female role models in our often male-dominated workplaces. This is an important part of the long-term skills supply work," says Maria Sunér, CEO of the industry organization Svemin.

The "Fe of the Year" will be chosen from the list, an award that goes to a woman who has made special contributions in or for the mining and steel industry during her career. "Fe" stands for iron in the periodic table and the award will be presented on March 6 in Stockholm.

Behind "40 over 40" are the industry organizations Jernkontoret and Swemin, the employers' organization Industriarbetsgivarna, and the networks Metallkvinnor and Women in Mining Sweden.

The opportunity to nominate has been open to everyone with the criteria that the nominees should be women, over 40 years old and have a connection to the mining or steel industry.
