Markku Kankaala resigns from NYAB`s Board of Directors
Markku Kankaala has been a member of the Board of Directors since July 2021 and was also the Chairman of the Board until September 2023. Following Kankaala’s resignation, NYAB’s Board of Directors will consist of eight members.
“On behalf of NYAB’s Board of Directors, I want to thank Markku Kankaala for his contribution to NYAB’s journey as a listed company. He has recently taken an active role in certain other corporate arrangements and wants to concentrate his time and effort on these undertakings. We respect his decision and wish him luck for the future”, says Jan Öhman, Chairman of the Board at NYAB.
NYAB was founded in Luleå and works with earthworks, infrastructure and specialized construction activities. In recent years, the company has grown to a turnover of billions of SEK with assignments over a large part of the country, not least in Stockholm and the region around the capital.
At the end of 2021, the Finnish Skarta Group Abp acquired the NYAB Group in a share swap agreement. In the autumn of 22 the new group changed its name to NYAB as 70 percent of the company's turnover is generated in Sweden. NYAB operates in Sweden and Finland within both private and public sector.
