Nyab changes residence from Finland to Sweden
Jan Öhman has been vice chairman of Nyab's board. He now succeeds Markku Kankaala, who will continue as Vice Chairman. Jan Öhman has previously been Chief Financial Officer at the investment company Industrivärden. He has also worked at Indutrade, Sandvik and Boliden, including as CFO at the Aitik mine. He is originally from Gällivare.
At the same time as the change of chairman, Nyab announces that the company is changing its domicile from Finland and listing on the Helsinki Stock Exchange to Sweden and the Stockholm Stock Exchange. This means that the company will be delisted in Helsinki and listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The company's registered office and head office will be located in Luleå.
Residence in Sweden and listing on the Stockholm Stock Exchange is expected to be commercially advantageous for the company. Most of the company's business activities are conducted in Sweden and most of the shareholders are resident in Sweden.
"I want to emphasize that Finland will remain a very important market for our business and home to skilled employees and important customers, to whom we owe much of our success. However, a change of domicile to Sweden and a listing on First North Premier in Sweden would bring us closer to our largest customers and geographic markets and support our strategy to continue to grow profitably", says Johan Larsson, CEO, Nyab.
Johan Larsson founded Nyab (Nyanläggarna i Luleå AB) in 2012, and after a number of years of strong growth, the Luleå company merged with Skarta in Finland in 2021. The new company was named Skarta Nyab and was based in Oulu, Finland. Not long after, the company was renamed Nyab. The company has over 400 employees in Finland and Sweden.
The new reorganization and list change will be completed in the first half of 2024.
