Nyab signs major contract for Aurora Line
A year ago, Nyab and Svenska Kraftnät signed an agreement on preparatory work for the construction of the power line. The new agreement covers the second phase of the 90-kilometer power line between Dockasberg and Risudden in Sweden.
"Aurora Line is a crucial project for the green industrial transition in the Nordics and ensures an important part of the future Nordic electricity supply as well as the common European market. The project further promotes the realization of largescale industrial investments that entail significant demand for our services in the coming years," says Magnus Granljung, Senior Vice President, Sweden at Nyab.
Aurora Line is a new 380 kilometer long 400 kV power line between Sweden and Finland that is being built jointly by the national grid companies Svenska kraftnät and Fingrid in Finland.
The new power line will improve electricity supply and equalize electricity prices between Finland and the other Nordic countries. This will be achieved by increasing transmission capacity and enabling an increase in renewable energy production in the Baltic Sea region.
