Kiruna companies at matchmaking in London
Swedish Workshop UK is a matchmaking event in London organized by Visit Sweden. The purpose is for Swedish tourism entrepreneurs to meet tour operators in the UK who are interested in packaging, marketing and selling the destination Sweden on the British market.
During the event, the Kiruna companies were able to meet with 20 different tour operators in pre-booked meetings. In addition, even more tour operators wanted to meet outside the meeting time.
According to Kiruna Lappland, interest in Kiruna as a destination is increasing, which is due to unique accommodation, social transformation and communications to and from Kiruna.
"England is one of our biggest priority markets and it is a market that we have been working purposefully for a long time. Over the years, we have succeeded very well in profiling ourselves as a winter destination, but we now also see an interest in other seasons, such as autumn, something that we also actively work to develop further," says Louise Johansson, project manager for marketing and destination development, at Kiruna Lappland.
The Swedish Workshop took place in connection with the World Travel Market London WTM, one of the world's largest fairs for the international travel industry.
