Instalco buys SMT Norrbotten
SMT i Norrbotten manufactures and repairs steel structures, performs assembly and industrial service, mostly in the steel, mining and paper industry. The head office is located in Luleå and the company has a turnover of approximately SEK 40 million with 17 employees.
"This is a very strategic acquisition for us as SMT operates in an area where we have long wanted to establish a stronger presence. The northern Norrland coast is an expansive area where major investments in the industrial area are planned for the coming years. SMT will fit well into our industrial group," says Johan Larsson, Division Manager for Instalco Norr.
Instalco acquires 100 percent of the shares in SMT i Norrbotten AB.
"We look forward to participating in the development of Instalco in the industrial area and the expansion in northern Sweden. Here we also get opportunities to broaden our business and our offer," says Janne Palo, CEO of SMT.
This is not the first acquisition that the Stockholm-based company Instalco has made in Norrbotten. In November 2021, it bought the Gällivare companies MRM Mining AB and EPS Sweden AB.
Instalco is one of the Nordic region's major installation companies in electricity, water, sanitation, ventilation, cooling, industry and technical consulting. The company carries out design, installation, service and maintenance of properties and facilities in Sweden, Norway and Finland. Operations are conducted through approximately 125 subsidiaries, supported by a small central organization. Instalco is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
