Facebook supports schools in Norrbotten

Luleå For the ninth year in a row, Facebook, now Meta, is distributing money to schools and other activities in Luleå.

This is done through the company's grant program, Meta Data Centre Community Action Grants.

Meta funds projects that use new technology to create community, connect people online or offline, and strengthen local education in the so-called STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

The activities supported this year are:
Alviksskolan, Luleå
Fagernäs School, Boden
Föräldraföreningen Nya Läroverkets Vänner (Friends of the New School).
Hortlax & Bergviken Preschools, Piteå
Hortlax School
Laxens Preschool
Råneskolan
House of Technology
VildaKidz
Vitådalen Economic Association

The company does not provide figures, but the total contribution is usually around SEK 2 million.
