TTC meeting took place in Luleå
The co-chairs at the meeting was also US Trade Representative Katherine Tai, US Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo, EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis and EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager.
In the programme was visits to companies with a focus on green and digital transition. Swedish expertise in sustainability and climate solutions will be showcased, for example Hybrit where fossil-free steel is produced.
At the meeting venue in House of Culture, a business exhibition was an integrated part of the TTC meeting and side events. A selection of companies, in different sectors with global value chains, which share a position at the forefront of the green transition was present. For example SSAB, LKAB, Vattenfall, Talga, Sunpine, ABB and Spaceport Esrange.
The Trade and Technology Council meeting in Luleå was the fourth meeting since the TTC was established in June 2021. TTC is the main forum for the EU and US to coordinate approaches to key global trade, economic and technology issues. Meetings have previously been held in Pittsburgh, Paris and Washington DC.
The dialogue in the TTC takes place between the European Union and the United States, which is why the Swedish Government only took part in selected parts of the programme in Luleå. Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Johan Forssell, Minister for Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström and Minister for Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Busch was representing Sweden.
