Nyab signs two contracts with Svenska kraftnät
One is an additional contract for Aurora Line, the new power line between Sweden and Finland that will increase transmission capacity, improve security of supply and enable an increase in renewable energy production in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The first contract was signed at the end of 2022, and work has been ongoing since early 2023 with planning and design.
The signed additional contract applies to the first phase of the project for the AC line between Dockasberg and Risudden. The signed supplementary contract is of a preparatory nature and concerns, among other things, time- and delivery-critical purchases for the upcoming phase two.
Nyab and Svenska kraftnät have also recently entered into a smaller contract for the execution of ground works for station renewal in Messaure, where a new 400 kV station will be built.
Together with its Finnish counterpart Fingrid Oyj, Svenska kraftnät is building a new 400 kV power line from Pyhänselkä in Muhos, via Keminmaa, to Messaure on the Swedish side of the border. The Aurora Line will be completed in 2025. The new line will increase trade capacity between Sweden and Finland by approximately 700 megawatts when completed.
