Wibax goes fossil-free by 2030
Wibax CEO Jonas Wiklund said this at the Race of Champions motor race at Pite Havsbad this weekend.
"We will show the way how you can take responsibility for your part of the environmental impact," says Jonas Wiklund.
The new targets are unusually ambitious for a logistics company with heavy truck traffic. According to Wibax, it is the first in the industry to have a completely circular approach to heavy traffic.
Wibax's previous environmental targets included an 80% fossil-free fleet. In addition to raising that figure, it has now added the requirement to become self-sufficient in electricity.
"The brilliant thing about electric cars is that we can actually power them ourselves. Then whether it will be charging cars or cars powered by hydrogen remains to be seen. The same goes for the production of electricity. As things stand today, it looks like a combination of both solar and wind power," says Jonas Wiklund.
Wibax's business concept is to sell, purchase, process and distribute chemical products to the base industries in Europe. Operations consist of sales, importing, production, development, servicing & maintenance, storage and distribution primarily of liquid chemical products and biooils in bulk. Raw materials purchases are made globally.
Wibax has depots and facilities throughout Sweden and in neighbouring Norway and Finland.
