Meeting for cooperation on hydrogen

Luleå For two days, 150 experts, investors and decision-makers from mainly Sweden and Finland gather to increase cooperation in the Nordic hydrogen industry.

The meeting is held at Luleå University of Technology this week.

The aim of the meeting is to lay the foundations for a joint action plan for a Nordic hydrogen economy around the Gulf of Bothnia between northern Sweden and Finland. An important task is to create cross-border supply chains for the hydrogen industry in the area.

Hydrogen is expected to play a crucial role in the major transition to fossil-free industry underway in northern Sweden.

Hydrogen is important both in the new industrial processes that mining company LKAB and steel manufacturer SSAB are now developing, and for storing energy from wind power production that varies with the weather.
