Terminal 5 to ensure competence with language training
Terminal 5 is collaborating with the business organisation Luleå Näringsliv on language training in Swedish to contribute to the supply of skills in Luleå.
The Luleå company Terminal 5 has been commissioned by Luleå Näringsliv and its 300 member companies to carry out language training in Swedish for employees of member companies who do not have Swedish as their first language. In this way, the companies want to improve their employer brand and give their employees better conditions to feel comfortable and stay in Luleå.
"In this first round, the target group has been graduates from seven local companies, some of which are smaller and local and some of which are part of larger international groups but with a local presence in Luleå. The participants in this first round in Luleå come from countries such as Egypt, Hungary, China, Spain, Montenegro, Sri Lanka, India, England, Turkey, Syria, and Iraq for direct employment with these local employers," says Peder Hansson, CEO of Terminal 5 Relocation, which is headquartered in Luleå.
After member companies expressed a desire for language training, Luleå Näringsliv assembled a reference group to compile the need. Terminal 5 was the provider that, according to the reference group, had the best experience of incoming skills in combination with a structure of the training that included language training, relocation support, Swedish business culture and networking.
"Several of our member companies are already working on international recruitment and the companies are perceived as attractive in an international market. In order for international recruitment to be long-term, active work is needed by both employers and society," says Camilla Sehlin, CEO of Luleå Näringsliv.
Since 2009, Terminal 5 has supported employers throughout Sweden with immigration issues, such as work permits, language training, employment for accompanying persons, finding accommodation and other things that make it easier for new employees to move to the country. In 2022, Terminal 5 supported around 250 employers in 67 locations in Sweden.
