Sunpine came second in the Brilliant Awards

Piteå Sunpine, a producer of tall oil and bio-oil outside Piteå in Norrbotten, came second in the Brilliant Awards Employee Experience competition.

Sunpine came second in the Change Journey of the Year category, measured as the biggest shift from 2021 to 2022, in terms of how employees perceive their work situation.

The results are based on data from company employee surveys, with 220 organisations and 240,000 employee responses providing the basis for the award. The survey includes employee data from 70 countries.

"We are incredibly proud to be one of the companies that has improved its employee experience the most in the Brilliant Awards Employee Experience - 'Change Journey of the Year' category. The results are based entirely on what our employees actually think of us as an employer and how well we've managed to align the organisation with their feedback. Which of course makes us extra happy," says David Öquist, CEO of Sunpine.

Sunpine in Piteå converts the residual product pine oil from the pulp mills into the products tall oil, resin, turpentine and bio-oil. Sunpine's tall oil is delivered to Preem, which uses it to produce Preem Evolution Diesel. Sunpine is owned by Preem, Sveaskog, Södra and Lawter.
