NYAB continues to work on ERTMS

Luleå Swedish-Finnish NYAB, founded in Luleå, continues with installations for the ERTMS signaling system for the Swedish Transport Administration, now on the Hässleholm - Malmö section in Skåne. The order value is SEK 60 million, or EUR 5.3 million.

This is NYAB's fourth contract with Trafikverket to install so-called multiduct, cables prepared for fiber installation, in Trafikverket's expansion program Opto 2.0, which will enable the introduction of the signaling system European Rail Traffic Management System, ERTMS, in Sweden.

The project is carried out as an execution contract and will start within the next few weeks.

"We will carry out the work on one of Sweden's busiest routes, which requires careful planning and a high focus on safety. We are pleased that Trafikverket gives us renewed confidence, as we previously performed work within Opto 2.0 ERTMS from Riksgränsen in the north to Småland in the south. With this contract, we are moving further south," says Johan Skoog, Business Area Manager at NYAB.

The new signaling system will facilitate sustainable and cross-border train traffic in Europe. The Swedish Transport Administration estimates the total cost of the introduction of Opto 2.0 at around SEK 5 billion, or EUR 440,000.
