New project for optical innovation power
Adopticum Foundation and LTU Business start the project Optical Innovation Power, Optic. It is aimed at small and medium-sized companies in Norrbotten and Västerbotten. The purpose is to support the green transition and contribute to a more equal entrepreneurship.
"By using optical measurement technology, companies can, for example, realize solutions where reduced environmental impact and economic gain go hand in hand. The potential for innovation that contributes to the ongoing transition is very large in most industries, from the beauty industry to forestry and mining", says Maria Strand, Vice President of the Adopticum Foundation.
Companies can turn to the project for support in investigating the technical conditions for an innovative idea. Adopticum has run this type of project before and has good experience.
"There are great opportunities for companies with optical measurement technology. There are companies that are the technology, that is, optical measurement technology is the basis for the entire business model, but the largest area of use may be automated inspection and quality assurance in various production processes", says Erik Hagenrud, business developer at LTU Business.
The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERUF), the municipalities along the coast in Norrbotten and Västerbotten, the regions and private industry. It runs for three years from this year.
Adopticum is a foundation established by the company Optronic in Skellefteå and Sparbanksstiftelsen Norrland in Skellefteå.
